Remove

1

Switch off ignition and remove ignition key

2

Turn camera lens (9) of ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11) towards vehicle interior


Make sure that the camera lens (9) is adjusted in the direction of the vehicle interior.
Damage during removal of the ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11) is thus avoided.

Remove overhead control panel (11) at front

Mark installation position ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11) on windshield (2)

Remove ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11)

 Insert long wedge (8) between ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11) and windshield (2) and carefully pry off ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11) while doing so.

Release fastening of electrical wiring harness for ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11)

 To do so, remove cable tie (13).

Disconnect electrical connector (15) from ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11)

Disconnect electrical connector (14) from emergency call system additional battery

9

Disconnect electrical connector (12) from external speaker

Remove ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11)

 To do so, expose electrical line (3) and pull out of headliner (4), to do so pull headliner (4) lightly away from windshield (2).



Clean

Clean windshield (2) in bonding area


Bonding area must be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and dirt residue.
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.



Install

12.1

Detach data label with details on WLAN network and WLAN code from electrical line (3) and stick into operator's manual

When replacing ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11).

12.2

Replace adhesive strips

When reusing the removed ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11).

 Adhesive strips are affixed to the housing of the ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11).

Apply light pressure to stick ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11) onto windshield (2)

 Observe respective dimensions (a, b) or (c, d).

 Remove protective foil from adhesive strips.

Slide electrical line (3) in between windshield (2) and headliner (4)

15

Fasten electrical wiring harness of ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11) into place

 Ensure that electrical lines are routed correctly.
Replace cable tie (13).

Connect electrical connector (12) to external speaker

Connect electrical connector (14) to emergency call system additional battery

18

Connect electrical connector (15) to ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11)

Install front overhead control panel (11)

Swivel camera lens (9) of ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11) into direction of travel

Activate WLAN for ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11)

For replaced ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11).

 To activate the WLAN, press and hold button (10) for approx. 5 s until orange LED stops flashing.

 The WLAN of the ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11) is activated for 3 minutes. During this period, it is possible to log into the WLAN network of the ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11).

Compare WLAN network details on data label with WLAN network of ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11)

For replaced ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11).

 Login to compare the details for the WLAN code on the data label.

Connect diagnostic system and perform initial startup of ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11)

For replaced ERA-Glonass control unit (B84/11).



Check whether the WLAN code is entered in the diagnosis menu item "Actual values" matches the details on the data label
