Disconnect electrical connector (6) of level sensor.

 Remove level sensor only.

If the front axle carrier (1) is replaced,



remove the level sensor completely.

Disconnect electrical connectors (5) of steering gear.

Remove holder of wiring harness from steering gear.

 To do this, remove bolt (4).

Remove engine stabilizer mount from engine.

Remove universal joint (7) from steering gear.

 Installation:
Fasten universal joint (7) correctly on steering gear. The groove (arrow) on the shaft of the steering gear must align with the bore in the universal joint (7).
Otherwise the screw (9) cannot be screwed in correctly.

 Installation:
The shown direction of installation of the screw (9) must be observed.
Otherwise malfunctions and damage may occur due to an incorrectly fastened universal joint (7).

 Removal: To do so, remove screw (9) and universal joint (7) with steering shaft (8) and remove from working area. Do not remove universal joint (7) from steering shaft (8).

If the universal joint (7) has been disconnected from the steering shaft (8).



Reattach universal joint (7) to steering shaft (8).

 When doing so, insert guide groove of universal joint (7) precisely into steering shaft (8).

Remove front axle carrier (1).
