Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove

1

Remove each front wheel.

Remove rear section of front fender liner.

Remove lower engine compartment paneling.

If installed.

Remove torsion bar linkage from stabilizer bar.

Pry ball joint (4) of linkage of level sensor off ball head on transverse control arm (1) using a suitable tool.

If the left transverse control arm (1) is removed.

Detach supporting joint from transverse control arm (1).

Unscrew nuts (2, 3).

 To do this, counterhold the screws.

Remove transverse control arm (1).

 To do this, remove screws and carefully pry out transverse control arm (1).
Helper required.



Check

9

Check elastomer bearings of transverse control arm (1).

If one elastomer bearing is worn or damaged,



Replace transverse control arm (1).



Install

Install transverse control arm (1).

 To do this, insert screws and screw on nuts (2, 3) while counterholding the screws.
Tighten nuts (2, 3) loosely by hand.
Helper required.

 Make sure that the elastomer bearings of the transverse control arm (1) are seated correctly on the front axle carrier.

 Make sure that the stabilizer bar mounting is seated correctly on the front axle carrier.

Attach supporting joint to transverse control arm (1).

Attach ball joint (4) of linkage of level sensor to ball head on transverse control arm (1).

Install torsion bar linkage at stabilizer bar.

Mount front wheel.

Drive vehicle on 4-post vehicle lift or work pit.

Rock vehicle to settle suspension several times.

Tighten nuts (2, 3).

 To do this, counterhold the screws.

Install rear section of front fender liner.
