Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Fill air suspension with compressed air

Only if the air suspension was unpressurized.

Remove spare tire

Model 906.15/25 as of 6/1/15

If the spare wheel is attached immediately in front of the covers (1, 3).

Unclip expansion rivets (2) and remove cover (1)

Unclip expansion rivet (4) and remove cover (3)

Check components of air suspension for damage and wear

If damaged or worn



Replace respective components.

Spray leak detection spray onto compressor (A10) and air coupling (arrow E) and check for leakage

 Only use leak detection spray approved by Daimler AG.

In case of leaks



Seal or replace affected components.

Spray leak detection spray onto connecting points (arrows A and B) of the valve block (5) and check for leaks

 Only use leak detection spray approved by Daimler AG.

In case of leaks



Seal or replace affected components.

Spray leak detection spray onto connecting points (arrows C and D) of the valve unit (Y10) and check for leaks

 Only use leak detection spray approved by Daimler AG.

In case of leaks



Seal or replace affected components.

Spray leak detection spray onto connecting points (arrow F) at air suspension bellows (6) and check for leaks

 Only use leak detection spray approved by Daimler AG.

In case of leaks



Seal or replace affected components.

Spray leak detection spray onto air suspension bellows (6) and check for leakage

 Only use leak detection spray approved by Daimler AG.

In case of leaks



Replace affected air suspension bellows (6).
