Remove radial shaft sealing ring (10)


Do not damage the seat of the radial shaft sealing ring (10).
The transmission housing (3) can otherwise be damaged.

Remove grooved ball bearing (11)

Remove shim between grooved ball bearing (11) and park pawl gear

Remove bolts (9, 14)


Position transmission so that it is vertical with the torque converter housing (1) facing downward.
Otherwise, the transmission housing (3) falls down after removing the last screws/bolts (9, 14).

Remove transmission housing (3) with valve lifter (02) from torque converter housing (1)

Mount transmission housing (3) onto torque converter housing (1)


Position the transmission housing (3) carefully.
Otherwise the disks of the BR clutch pack (12) and multidisk brake B2 (13) may break off.

 Align disks in transmission housing (3).

Mount output flange (8)

Place transmission housing (3) onto torque converter housing (1)


Never pull the transmission housing (3) by the bolts (9, 14) onto the torque converter housing (1).
Otherwise the disks of the BR clutch pack (12) and multidisk brake B2 (13) may break off.

 By abruptly turning the output flange (8) while simultaneously lifting up the transmission housing (3) the transmission housing (3) gradually slips onto the seal (2) of the torque converter housing (1). The transmission housing (3) must lie completely flush (without gaps) against the seal (2) on the torque converter housing (1) (arrow).

Screw in bolts (9, 14)

 Replace screws/bolts (9, 14).

Measure axial play between park pawl gear and grooved ball bearing (11)

 The thickness of the required shim between the grooved ball bearing (11) and park pawl gear is determined.

 Install radial shaft sealing ring (10) using drift into rear cover until drift makes contact with rear cover.
