Due to a noise complaint, future major assembly exchanges may only take place following approval by the respective area manager (GBB) or the customer service official (KDB) of the ASK area.
Investigations of major assemblies that were exchanged due to noise development frequently concluded in no findings or determination of fault. This especially applies to expensive components such as transmissions and engines. Axles, axle gears and steering systems also are increasingly affected.
In order to track the fault(s), it is necessary to analyze the major assembly in the installed state and exactly describe the noises. Many digital cameras also have a video clip function with audio recording capability.
Before exchanging a major assembly, all possible sources of fault including contact parts, strain in the drive train, foreign objects in tubing and similar must be ruled out or rectified. If no fault is found, be sure to contact Service no later than prior to making an exchange.
Only if the respective GBB or KDB has made a decision for removal and documented this as a service report is the service partner exempt from liability if the findings do not reveal any source of error. If no service report is available, we reserve the right to charge back warranty/goodwill costs for inconspicuous findings.
