A End cover repair version with pressed in radial sealing ring (4)

B End cover standard version with vulcanized on radial sealing ring (replace in repair case by version A)

	In production engines the radial sealing ring is vulcanized at the end cover. This end cover is not supplied as a spare part. In the event of a repair, install end cover with pressed-in radial sealing ring.
	Removing
1	Remove two-mass flywheel or clutch plate		AR03.30-D-8002B
2	Remove bolts (3, 6)
3	Press off end cover (2)	 Press end cover with vulcanized radial sealing ring off crankcase at the tabs (arrows). Do not damage oil pan gasket when pressing off!
	Install
4	Check crankshaft radial seal (4)	If necessary, after inspection, 
		Install rear radial shaft sealing ring for crankshaft	AR03.20-D-3063-01A
		 If necessary install radial sealing ring after fitting end cover.
5	Clean end cover (2) separating surfaces, cover with sealant.		*BR00.45-Z-1012-01A
6	Screw insertion tool internal component onto crankshaft.		*111589084300
7	Lubricate the radial sealing ring's (4) sealing lip and the offset surface.	 Do not use grease! Grease prevents the radial sealing ring's sealing lip from transporting the engine oil back.
8	Install end covers (2)	 When installing the end cover do not damage oil pan gasket; note fitting sleeves.
9	Coat bolt (3, 6) thread with sealant.		*BR00.45-Z-1012-01A
10	Screw on bolts (3)		*BA01.40-N-1003-01B
11	Screw on bolts (6)		*BA01.40-N-1003-01B
12	Install two-mass flywheel or clutch plate		AR03.30-D-8002B
