6 | Remove lower engine compartment paneling. | ||
Ensure that vehicle is level in longitudinal and transverse direction on vehicle lift. | |||
7 | Thoroughly clean automatic transmission oil pan (1) and its surroundings. | Assembly cleaner | |
8 | Open quick-release fastener (2) with socket wrench. | Collect escaping automatic transmission fluid in a suitable container to determine the quantity of automatic transmission fluid. | |

9 | Insert socket wrench (4) into overflow pipe (5) until it engages. | Socket wrench | |
10 | Turn socket wrench (4) to position 4 (arrow A). | Collect remaining automatic transmission fluid in a suitable container to determine the quantity of automatic transmission fluid. | |
Do not pull the socket wrench (4) out of the overflow pipe (5). | |||
