Based on current findings, we would like to inform you that fuel tanks have been replaced several times due to ingress of foreign objects.
If the customer complains that the fuel tanks cannot be filled, the fuel tank and the filler neck must be checked for foreign objects. This check can be carried out using a commercially available flexible endoscope, for example.
It is absolutely essential to consider corresponding safety information for function group 47 (see AS47.00-Z-9999ZZ).
In case foreign objects are found in the fuel tank and in the filler neck, repair work must not be settled via warranty or goodwill. If, during warranty and goodwill settlement, it is found that foreign objects are and/or were present in the fuel tank and in the filler neck, then we have the right to reject the warranty and goodwill claim.
It is known that a rubber drip protection is fitted at the nozzles at some gas stations. When the nozzle is pulled out, this rubber can be stripped off and it could then fall into the filler neck, or in some cases, even into the fuel tank. The complaint occurs only when the fuel tank is next refilled.
