The intention behind this Service Information bulletin is to assist you in testing and checking the plausibility of the ZM operation items in a warranty and goodwill case. To do so, you will find a table below that contains the most-frequently used ZM items with orientation values, that were determined on the basis of the average times submitted. The application, including the actual time required for the time prescribed by the foreperson, shall continue to be based on the currently applicable time management rules. In a warranty case, all ZM items must still be confirmed by the foreperson or a person authorized by the foreperson as part of a foreperson inspection process.
The orientation values should help to increase transparency and are used solely for checking the plausibility of applications in the claim preparation (dealer) as well as the claim decision making, and should help to avoid any queries at a later stage. They are not to be regarded as lower limits, upper limits or a fixed time. If the actual time required (time-punch) is less, then this must also be invoiced in the claim. If additional work is involved, this must be stated along with a reason in the message field in the warranty and goodwill claim for better assessment, if not already visible in a TIPS case, an ESKULAB query or from the context itself.
Any exposure work (disassembly) is not included here. Where possible, existing operation items with permanently-assigned times should be used for this. Generally, vehicle models that are not yet included in WIS/TIPS or ASRA,comparable models must be used for the book/column numbers. For more detailed information, please refer to the applicable Warranty manual.
The procedure described here is only valid for the car, cross-country vehicle and smart divisions.
