Due to recent events we would like to notify you that when an engine is replaced, the assembly of the old major assembly is not compensated for to the full extent. The cylinder head is only to be provisionally mounted after establishing findings.
The following list of operation items is to be used for this case with immediate effect:
Remove G 01-5845 cylinder head, assemble provisionally following findings report.
Remove V 01-5846 cylinder head, assemble provisionally following findings report (engine removed).
With regard to the topic of "provisional assembly" please also note Chapter 1305-13N of the Extended Warranty Manual Retail (EWMR), or the appropriate passages in the Warranty Manual Retail (WMR) applicable to you.
This Service Information bulletin refers only to the assembly of old major assemblies. The working hours required for establishing findings will continue to be listed separately.
Operations for assembling the old major assembly in the case of engine replacement must NOT be settled via warranty or goodwill and can result in rejection or reverse-charging of the warranty or goodwill claim.
