Open maintenance flap.

Unscrew cap (1).

Set heating to max. heating output and switch on ignition.

Switch off auxiliary heater.

Only for vehicles with code D6M (Auxiliary water heater, cab or code) or code D6N (Auxiliary water heater, cab and engine).

Provide filling unit.



 Capture coolant only with the filling unit. The coolant will be cleaned through a filter during filling.

Open drain screw (3) and drain coolant from the radiator (2).

Remove drain screws (6, 8) and drain coolant from the retarder (7).

Switch off ignition.

Tighten drain screws (6, 8) on the retarder (7).

Remove adhering chips on the drain screws (6).
Otherwise the engine cooling system will be damaged.

 Install new sealing rings.

Tighten drain screw (3) at radiator (2).

Check

Check drained coolant for contamination.

 In the case of strong fouling, the coolant must generally be replaced.

Check coolant with antifreeze tester.

If the antifreeze protection is too low,

Correct concentration of antifreeze or replace the coolant.
