1. General instructions

Due to further developments and for greater process reliability, the compressed air connectors on the vehicle model series Actros, Axor, Atego, Econic, and subsequently also on the vehicles in Turkey and Brazil, will be converted as of January 2004.

The previous VOSS 230 compressed air connectors with nominal sizes 6, 8 and 12 will be replaced by the

Schäfer SDF connector for nominal size 6 and

VOSS 232 connector for nominal sizes 8 and 12.

The new compressed air connectors are releasable, two-catch connectors, which are distinguished by their user friendliness and simple handling.

On major assemblies, except on transmission and engine (these will be converted at a later time) and on all components (e.g. brake components, compressed air reservoir; compressed-air lines, etc.) only the new compressed air connectors will be installed at the factory.

Moreover, a number of pilot vehicles have already been equipped with the new compressed air connectors.

The individual parts (plugs and retaining bolts ) of the previous and new compressed air connectors are not compatible with one another.

Installation of different complete compressed air connectors on one vehicle, or assemblies and components, is permissible.

Detailed system descriptions, as well as installation and repair instructions, are included in WIS.

3. Parts supply/Parts determination

The parts identification (single parts and repair kits) for the new compressed air connectors is possible in the familiar manner via EPC.

Observe instructions in "What's New" in EPC, Edition 01/04.

The previous VOSS 230 compressed air connector can still be ordered for the time of the conversion phase.
