Remove threaded cap (3) on oil filter housing

 Take out oil filter element to allow engine oil to flow off into oil pan.



Remove charge air cooler

Remove charge air manifold (110/1)

Detach coolant hose (7) at oil-water heat exchanger (8)

Detach ATF lines (9) at oil-water heat exchanger (8)

Only with transmission 722.6.

 Collect ATF which flows out.

 Installation: Replace seals on ATF lines (9).

Detach oil-water heat exchanger (8) at timing case cover

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces. Replace gasket (10), in order to avoid leakage.



Install in the reverse order

Inspecting cooling system for leaks

Check oil level in automatic transmission, correct if necessary

Only with transmission 722.6.

 Carry out inspection at normal operating temperature.
