Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove air intake line upstream of exhaust gas turbocharger (11).

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.

Drain off coolant.

Release and disconnect the electrical connections (1).

Release and disconnect bleed line (2) from crankcase ventilation system (3) and place to one side.

Seal openings with suitable stop plug.

Remove electric lines (17) from clamps.

Remove screw (4) and place cable duct (5) as far to one side as possible.


Do not crush or kink or subject lines to tension.
This leads to damage to the lines and impairs their function.

Remove screw (4.1).

Open heat insulation (6).

Open clamp (7) and detach hose (8) from the feed line coolant line (9).

Seal exposed connections using suitable plugs.

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
