Remove/install

Remove on-board electrical system battery (G1).

Remove engine air intake duct downstream of air filter (11).

Release, disconnect electrical connector at low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation differential pressure sensor (B28/18) and place electric line to one side.

Release and disconnect electrical connector(10).

Remove vent hose (1) from the air intake line (8).

Remove screw (5) and remove low pressure exhaust gas recirculation differential pressure sensor (B28/18) from the air intake line (8).

Open snap clamp (6).

 Installation: Replace snap clamp (6).

Remove molded hose (7) from the air intake line (8).

Open screw clamp (2).

 Installation: Replace screw clamp (2).

Open clamp (3).

Detach air intake line (8) from the exhaust gas turbocharger and molded hose (4).

 Installation: Install new molded hose (4).

 Installation: Pay attention to installation position.

Remove air intake line(8).

 Installation: Replace compensating ring.

 Installation: The alignment points (9) must point toward each other.

Seal openings on the exhaust gas turbocharger with protective covers.

Check air intake line (8) for damage.

If problems exist,



replace air intake pipe (8) together with engine air intake duct downstream of the air filter (11).

 Air intake pipe (8) is obtainable only with engine air intake duct downstream of the air filter (11) as a replacement part.

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper leak tightness and leak tightness.
