Remove/install

Remove air filter housing

 Detach intake air hose to air compressor at compressor (separation point A) and take out together with air filter box

Remove bottom engine compartment panel

Remove charge air pipe and intake air pipe

Remove charge air hose

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Drain coolant

 Removal: Remove cap on expansion reservoir

Remove radiator with front end

Slacken poly V-belt

Remove poly-V belt

Removal: Take poly-V belt off belt pulley of air compressor and attach to engine

Installation: Do not use any belt wax or similar products.

Extract oil from power steering pump (2)



Detach oil lines (6), (7)

 Installation: Install new sealing rings.



Information on avoiding damage to compressor

 Cylinder head bolts of compressor must not be slackened.

Disconnect compressed air line (9) at compressor

Remove retaining bolts (8)



Remove angled piece (10)

 Removal: Pay attention to position of washers (13) and of spacer sleeve (12).



Unscrew bolts (4) attaching compressor to retaining bracket

 Lift compressor (1) up and out



Take off power steering pump (2)

 Removal: Catch leaking out hydraulic fluid.

 Installation: Rotate air compressor crankshaft until the guides of the cross plate (3) are positioned horizontally, fit cross plate (3) onto compressor crankshaft, attach power steering pump (2).

Install in the reverse order

Bleed steering, inspect fluid level,

inspect for leaks
