Remove/install

1

Remove pressure transducer for the diaphragm capsule of the bypass valve for the low-pressure exhaust gas turbocharger.

Remove pressure transducer diaphragm capsule of the wastegate.

Remove temperature sensor control unit.

 Only remove temperature sensor control unit from bracket (8), release connected electric lines from their brackets and place temperature sensor control unit upwards outside the working area.

Remove bracket (8) of temperature sensor control unit from cylinder head.

 Remove screw/bolt (10) to do this.

Remove electrical connector (4) from the filler neck for engine oil (1).

Model 470, 471 with engine 699.301/303

 Do not disconnect electrical connector (4).

Remove electrical wiring harness (5) from the filler neck for engine oil (1).

 Position electrical wiring harness (5) outside working area.
The number and location of the individual fastening points of the electrical wiring harness (5) vary depending on the engine variant.

Remove retaining clips (6) from the filler neck for engine oil (1).

 The number and location of the individual fastening points of the retaining clips (6) vary depending on the engine variant.

 Installation: Check retaining clips (6) for damage.

If damage is present:



Replace damaged retaining clips (6).

Remove vacuum hoses (7) from the filler neck for engine oil (1).

 Seal connections.
The number and location of the individual fastening points of the vacuum hoses (7) vary depending on the engine variant.

Remove screws (2).

Remove screw/bolts (3).

 Bolt, filler neck for engine oil to timing case cover

Remove filler neck for engine oil (1).

 Installation: Check seal for damage.

If damage is present:



Replace damaged seal with new one.

Transfer bracket (8) of temperature sensor control unit from filler neck for engine oil (1).

If filler neck for engine oil (1) will be replaced.

 To do this, remove screw/bolts (9) .

Clean

Clean sealing surface on the filler neck for engine oil (1).

If the filler neck for engine oil (1) is reused.

Clean sealing surface timing case cover.

Install in the reverse order.



 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
