Remove

Open rear dropside (9).

Remove right and left check straps (4) from the rear dropside (9).


Secure rear dropside (9) against folding down.
Otherwise, this can lead to damage to the rear dropside (9) and to the rear bumper.

 For this purpose, remove screws (5) with the washer set (12).
Dispose of screws (5).
Observe installation position of the check straps (4).

Remove screws (6, 7).



Install

Mark dropside seal (8) on both ends.

For simultaneous installation of the seal dropside (8).

 For this purpose, position the respective bracket (3) on the rear dropside (9) and mark seal (8) at the corresponding point (area A).

Shorten dropside seal (8) at the marked points using a suitable tool (area A).

For simultaneous installation of the seal dropside (8).

Fasten right and left brackets (3) to the rear dropside (9) using a suitable check strap (4).

 To do this, screw in screws (6) and screws (11) with washer set (12).

 Use the screws (11) from the installation kit.

Fasten right and left brackets (2) with screws (7, 10) and washers (10.1) to the platform.

 The installation positions of the screws (10) and washers (10.1) are accessible under the rear bumper.

 Use screws (10) and washers (10.1) from the installation kit.

Clip pneumatic springs (1), as shown, to the to the respective brackets (2, 3) on the right and left.


Observe the direction of installation of the pneumatic springs (1).
Otherwise, damage to the pneumatic springs (1) may occur.

Close rear dropside (9).


The lifting lugs (13) of the check straps (4) may not be bent.
Otherwise, the check straps (4) will not be positioned in the channels of the brackets (3) when closing the rear dropside (9).

If the respective check strap (4) is not positioned,



correct the corresponding lifting lug (13).



Check

10

Perform the function test of the pneumatic springs (1).

11

Hand warning to the customer.

 The warning is attached to the installation kit.
