1 | Remove hydrodynamic retarder | ||
Assembly: Only close the maintenance flap above the transmission and reinstall the engine compartment encapsulation below the transmission after the leak check. | |||

3 | Remove proportional valve (2) | ||
4 | Remove profile ventilation (3) | ||
5 | Remove coolant temperature sensor (4) | ||
6 | Remove heat exchanger (5) | ||
7 | Remove pressure sensor (6) | ||
8 | Remove upper cover (7) | ||
9 | Remove lower cover (8) | ||
10 | Remove temperature sensor (9) | ||
11 | Assemble in the reverse order | ||
12 | Perform a test drive and bleed hydrodynamic retarder | If present and possible, switch off the foot control of the hydrodynamic retarder. Move the vehicle at 50 km/h and switch on the hydrodynamic retarder 5 times in the first brake stage for approx. 5 s each time. | |
13 | Perform leak check in working area | Visual inspection. |
