Do not carry out any work unless retarder is switched off. Wear suitable protective clothing and safety glasses when working on the hot retarder.

Have a suitable receptacle for oil ready to hand, remove drain screws (1) and drain off oil completely

Remove screws (4)

Detach cover (2) together with seal (3)

Clean

Clean contact surfaces of seal (3)

Install

Attach cover (2) together with new seal (3)

Ensure the correct installation position of the seal (3) relative to the cover (2).

Tighten screws (4)

Observe the tightening sequence.

Bolt, oil reservoir cover at bottom to oil reservoir

Tighten drain screws (1) and pour in oil
