MODEL 405.10# /12# /20# /22# ## as of 204086 with ENGINE 902.9, 906.9

On universally applicable motorized implement (UNIMOG) vehicles from the model series 405 as of VIN end no. 204086 with 6-cylinder engines, under certain operating conditions the performance of the air conditioning system may not be insufficient, and high interior temperatures may be recorded in the cab.

The reason for this lies in the control logics for the hydrostatic cooling fan for the auxiliary water cooler or A/C condenser

Up till now the cooling fan has been actuated to match the engine temperature and charge air temperature requirements.

The new control logics will now monitor the system pressure in the air conditioning system and, where applicable, the cooling fan is actuated through the FR (FMR) control unit (A3).

This serves to ensure demand-controlled cooling of the A/C condenser, which in turn positively affects the air conditioning system's performance.

If required, affected vehicles can be converted in line with the retrofitting instructions.
