Function requirements, general
Power window normalized
Convenience feature (CF), general
The following components can be opened and closed centrally with the CF [KFB] with the transmitter key and the air recalculation button:
Side window(s)
Vario roof
On vehicles with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO) the side windows and the Vario roof can be closed additionally via the following control points:
Left KEYLESS-GO door handle
Right KEYLESS-GO door handle
The CF function comprises the following partial functions:
Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key (as of 01.06.2015 not with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (without code (494) USA version)
Function sequence for convenience feature via KEYLESS-GO door handle (with code (889) Keyless Go)
Additional function requirements for convenience feature via transmitter key (as of 01.06.2015 not with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
Circuit 15C OFF
Vario roof in end position
Trunk lid closed
Doors closed
Press lock or unlock button on transmission key for t > 2 s (transmitter key pointed in direction of driver side door infrared remote control receiver)
Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key (as of 01.06.2015 not with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
The signal from the transmitter key is received by the infrared remote control receiver in the driver door and relayed to the left door control unit. The door control unit relays the signal to the electronic ignition lock control unit via the interior CAN.
The electronic ignition switch control unit checks the access authorization of the transmitter key. If the access authorization is valid, the electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the signals to the left door control unit.
Depending on the request the left door control unit transmits the signals "Convenience feature mode" and "Convenience feature direction" via the interior CAN to the following control units:
Right door control unit
Vario roof control control unit
The left door control unit actuates the left front power window motor.
The right door control unit actuates the right front power window motor.
The Vario roof control unit actuates the left rear power window motor, right rear power window motor and Vario roof control hydraulic unit.
When opening or closing the Vario roof, the side windows are included in the process. When the Vario roof is opened, first the front side windows are lowered.
When closing, the Vario roof is closed first and then the side window are rolled up.
Detailed information for vario roof control is given in a separate document.
Additional function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (without code (494) USA version)
Terminal 15 ON
Air recirculation mode button pressed for t > 1 s (for comfort opening when components are closed)
Air recirculation mode button pressed for t > 1.5 s (for comfort opening when components are open)
Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (without code (494) USA version)
Comfort opening and closing is actuated via the air recirculation switch. The air recirculation button is read in by the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit and is transmitted via the interior CAN to the following control units:
Left door control unit
Right door control unit
Vario roof control control unit
The current position of the side windows is stored during the comfort closing operation.
During the next comfort opening procedure, these are all moved back to the positions stored previously.
Actuation of individual components is described in chapter "Function sequence for comfort actuation via transmitter key".
Additional function prerequisites for convenience feature via Keyless-Go door handle (with code (889) Keyless-Go)
Circuit 15 OFF
A valid transmitter key is located outside the vehicle and in the vicinity (s = 1 m) of the KEYLESS-GO door handle
Doors closed and vehicle locked
Touching comfort sensor on outside of one of the KEYLESS-GO door handles for t >2 s
Function sequence for convenience feature via KEYLESS-GO door handle (with code (889) Keyless Go)
The KEYLESS-GO control unit reads in the signals from the comfort sensors and transmits the request "Comfort closing" via the interior CAN to the following control units:
Left door control unit
Right door control unit
Vario roof control control unit
Actuation of individual components is described in chapter "Function sequence for comfort actuation via transmitter key".
Convenience closing is interrupted in the following cases:
when another comfort sensor is touched,
when the comfort sensor is no longer touched,
After max. t = 90 s
If another central locking command is present
If during comfort closed or max. t = 2 s after the same KEYLESS-GO door handle is pulled, the emergency opening function is activated. In this case, the windows and the Vario roof are actuated in the 'Open' direction. Actuation is performed for min t = 2 s or as long as the KEYLESS-GO door handle is pulled, max. for t = 90 s.
