General
As soon as a power take-off is switched on, electronic working speed control will be activated. To do this up to three power take-offs can be parameterized differently according to the vehicle equipment. The parameters for the power take-off functions have been defined in the control unit for the advanced signal acquisition and actuation module and SAM with additional functions. Different regulation specifications can be set for each power take-off.
The parameters can be specified individually. Examples of pre-requisites:
Parking brake applied
Transmission in neutral
Engine speed range (minimum and maximum)
Torque limit
When the power take-off has been switched on, the working speed can be set between 550 rpm and 750 rpm. This setting is made via the following component parts:
The accelerator pedal
The left multifunction steering wheel button group (vehicles with code J6A (Classic cockpit))
The right multifunction steering wheel button group (vehicles with code J6A (Classic cockpit))
The left finger navigation pad (vehicles with code J6B (Multimedia cockpit) or code J6C (Multimedia cockpit, interactive))
The working speed can be set to a parameterized value via the working speed switch.
Changing the working speed via the accelerator pedal
If the accelerator pedal sensor detects a change in the accelerator pedal position, the drive control control unit will change the regulation specification for the working speed. It will transmit this to the engine management control unit via the drive train CAN. The specified parameters of the control unit for the advanced signal acquisition and actuation module and SAM with additional functions will be taken into consideration in the process, as will the current actual speed.
The engine management control unit increases the working speed by increasing the injection quantity and keeping this constant.
Changing the working speed via the multifunction steering wheel
The working speed can be changed in increments of 20 via the multifunction steering wheel.
In vehicles with code J6A (Classic cockpit), the left multifunction steering wheel button group right multifunction steering wheel button group are connected, via the button group LIN (LIN 7), to the instrument cluster control unit (ICUC) (A1).
In vehicles with code J6B (Multimedia cockpit) or code J6C (Multimedia cockpit, interactive), the finger navigation pad is connected, via the user interface CAN (CAN 17), to the instrument cluster (IC) control unit (A151).
The commands are sent to the central gateway control unit and the drive control control unit via the frame CAN. The drive control control unit compares the actual working speed with the specified working speed, adjusts the regulation specification and sends it to the engine management control unit. If an upper/lower limit for the working speed has been parameterized, this is taken into consideration.
Taking the engine's current operating state into consideration, the engine management control unit calculates the injection quantity and the injection timing point. It activates the fuel injectors and the quantity control valve accordingly. Fuel is injected into the combustion chamber.
Changing the working speed via the working speed switch
One special task in controlling the working speed is taken on by the working speed control switch.
The constant rpm control can be activated via the working speed switch. The engine management control unit regulates an engine speed parameterized specifically for this, and keeps this constant, regardless of the load.
