Install straightening bench (1)

The listed straightening benches (1) can be used as an option.
The assembly instructions can be found in the car-bench assembly plan.

Secure crossmembers high (2) and crossmembers flat (3) to the left and right of the straightening bench (1)

The number and position depend on the car-bench assembly plan.
The straightening bench (1) is divided into index fields (arrow A) in the longitudinal direction. The index fields (arrow A) are marked with numbers on the lateral straightening bench flange (arrow B).

Assemble and set up measuring points depending on the damage progression on the left and right of the crossmembers high (2) and the crossmembers flat (3)

Measuring points that prevent the body from being placed in position are assembled and set up later on.
To align the body, two measuring points must be set up on the left and right of the body in the non-deformed area.
The assembly and set-up instructions can be found in the car-bench assembly plan included with the straightening set.

Attach two support arms to the uni-anchorings (6) left and right on the straightening bench (1) and the crossmembers high (2) or the crossmembers flat (3)

Attach support arms of the uni-anchorings (6) to the relevant fixing points.
The fixing points to be used can be found in the car-bench assembly plan included with the straightening set.

Install access ramps (7) on the straightening bench (1) and drive the body onto the straightening bench (1)

The set of access ramps with 4 lateral trolleys can be used, as an option, for both straightening systems.

Remove the center access ramps (7) from the straightening bench (1)

Secure and set up the uni-anchorings (5) on the left and right to the support arms of the uni-anchorings (6)

Danger

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Lift the body with the vehicle lift and align the straightening bench (1) beneath it using the measuring points that have been set up

Align the uni-anchorings (5) with the lift support points on the longitudinal member outer shell

The assembly and set-up instructions can be found in the car-bench assembly plan included with the straightening set.

Position the body in the uni-anchorings (5) and place the steel clamping jaws of the uni-anchorings (5) in position


Ensure that the body has been firmly clamped in the steel clamping jaws of the uni-anchorings (5).
Otherwise, it may be torn out during straightening procedures.

Lower the raised body with the vehicle lift.

Assemble and set up required and non-required measuring points on the left and right of the crossmembers high (2) and the crossmembers flat (3)

The assembly and set-up instructions can be found in the car-bench assembly plan included with the straightening set.

Check

Compare the position of the measuring points with the drive points on the body, read off the measurement values on the relevant scales and compare them against the Car-Bench assembly plan

Check the entire body for offset

Straightening

Remove measuring points in the deformation area from the body

Assemble the straightening boom (4) on the straightening bench (1)

Either the (4) "PIRANHA" or "MURAENA" straightening boom can be used.
The assembly instructions can be found in the car-bench assembly plan.

Revert the body to its original form with the straightening boom (4)

Approach the measuring points in the deformation area and set them up

The set-up instructions can be found in the car-bench assembly plan included with the straightening set.

Check

Compare the position of the measuring points with the drive points on the body again, read off the measurement values on the relevant scales and compare them against the Car-Bench assembly plan

If necessary, repeat the straightening procedure and subsequent test procedure.

Dismantle the straightening bench (1) in reverse order

Rectify all paintwork damage on the body in the area of the measuring points and uni-anchorings (5)
