1 Brake pedal winch

Measure, adjust

Observe general information on chassis alignment

AR40.20-P-0201RT

1

Drive the vehicle onto the measuring area, move the selector lever into position "P" and apply the parking brake

The measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.

The front wheels must be positioned centrally on the turntables, adjust the turntables to the track width of the vehicle if necessary. Do not turn the steering.

Adjust the sliding plates for the rear axle if necessary to the track width and the wheel base of the vehicle.

2.1

Select the normal tuning via the adaptive damping system switch in the center console

Vehicles with AIRmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS), code 489.

Both indicator lamps in the adaptive damping system switch are out.

See Operator's Manual.

3.1

Switch off easy entry/exit function for driver seat and steering wheel

Vehicles with memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors) code 275.

AR54.30-P-1000-02RT

Otherwise the driver's seat and steering wheel move to a different position, e.g. when the driver door is opened/closed. The seat may be damaged if the brake pedal winch is installed.

Switching off takes place via the buttons on the steering wheel in the "Comfort" menu of the multifunction display, see also operator's manual.

4

Move the driver door window downwards to the full extent

Preparations for checking steering lock.

5.1

Disembark and raise the vehicle level from outside and lower it again; to do this, press the vehicle level switch on the center console

Vehicles with AIRmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS), code 489.

Raising and lowering the vehicle reduces play in the suspension.

After raising and lowering, the normal tuning must be selected again (both indicator lamps in the adaptive damping system switch are out), see also operator's manual.

The vehicle must not be loaded again.

6

Switch off ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS [EZS] control unit

On vehicles with Keyless Go, code 889: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).

7

Insert the brake pedal jack (1) with adapter for brake pedal jack (1) between the brake pedal and driver seat

Protect the brake pedal and driver seat from damage.

Do not load the vehicle.
