1	Secure vehicle against rolling
2	Drain oil from rear axle
	Rear axle - oil change		AP35.00-A-3501A
3	Remove rear axle shafts		AR35.30-A-0620A
4	Remove ring gear with differential		AR35.30-A-0464A
5	Detach propeller shaft (1) from rear axle	Secure propeller shaft (1) against falling.
6	Remove tab washer (10)
7	Remove threaded ring (5)	 Do not pull out the drive pinion gear (7) yet. Otherwise the shim falls into the oil groove and prevent further removal.

8	Prepare drive pinion (7) for removal		AR35.30-A-0458-04A
		 Puller	*745589003300
9	Remove drive pinion gear (7) and detach pulling device
10	Remove shims (9) from axle housing (12)
11	Check cylindrical roller bearing (8)	 If damaged or worn, replace cylindrical roller bearing (8).	AR35.30-A-0440-04A
		 Drift	*305589001500
12	Disassemble drive pinion (7)	 Only when the cylindrical roller bearing (8) is replaced.	AR35.30-A-0459A
	Install
13	Assemble drive pinion (7)	 Only when the cylindrical roller bearing (8) has been replaced.	AR35.30-A-0459A
14	Insert spacer washers (9) in the axle housing (12)	 The thicker spacer washer (9) must be installed towards the axle center.
15	Prepare drive pinion (7) for installation		AR35.30-A-0458-05A

		 Testing unit	*354589012100
16	Insert the drive pinion (7) in the axle housing (12)	 Until the threaded ring (5) abuts the axle housing (12).
17	Screw in and tighten the threaded ring (5)	 Coat the threaded ring (5) with sealing compound. While screwing in strike the claw wrench with a plastic mallet until the threaded ring (5) is flush.
