1 Fasten the puller (15) to the drive flange (3) with 2 bolts (16) so that the bolts (16) press onto the threaded ring (5) with approx. 30 Nm and the puller (15) lies flat on the drive flange (3).
The outer races of the tapered roller bearings are under stress axially as a result and the shim halves cannot slip in the oil groove when the drive pinion is pulled out.
2 Screw in the puller screws (17) evenly and pull out the drive pinion.
