1 | Place the jack under the center of the rear rearward axle or rear forward axle | Ensure that the jack is in contact with the metal portion of the axle housing area. | |
2 | Jack up the wheels using a proper jacking machine and support vehicle chassis frame near rear under protection device (RUPD) by using tripod stand | Ensure that vehicle against rolling before jack up the wheel. | |
3 | Remove wheels on both the axles on both side | Remove/install wheels | |
4 | Remove the drain plug (1) to drain the oil | Installation: Fill the differential oil to the recommended level. | |
Oil to be filled at 10mm below the filler plug level. | |||
5 | Pull out the compressed air line (2) and disconnect the harness socket from the differential lock | ||
6 | Remove the air line (3) and breather hose from the differential unit | ||
7 | Remove the differential lock sensor | By using 24 mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |
Installation: By using 24 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||

8 | Install the dummy bolt (4) instead of sensor on the slot of the differential lock sensor | By using 27 mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |
Ensure that before removing the axle shaft from the axle housing dummy bolt has to be installed of differential lock sensor. | |||
Installation: By using 27 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench | |||
9 | Remove the axle shafts on both side wheel hubs | By using 24mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |
Installation: By using 24 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
Clean sealing surface on rear axle shaft flange and on wheel hubs and apply the sealant. | |||
Apply sealant to the axle shaft to wheel hub. | |||

10 | Remove the mud flap (5) from the load body | By using 18 mm socket and wrench. | |
11 | Detach the torque rod (6) from the trunnion bracket and rear rearward axle spring bracket | By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |
Installation: By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||

12 | Detach the rear cross member (7) from the trunnion | By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |
Installation: By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||

13 | Remove the intermediate shaft (8) from the rear forward axle and rear rearward axle | By using 18 mm socket and wrench. | |
Support the propeller shaft by hand to prevent it dropping down. | |||
14 | Attach removal fixture (9) to differential assembly | ||
15 | Remove the differential assembly (10) | By 24 mm socket and wrench. | |
Pull out the differential assembly; gap available in between the trunnion and rear rearward axle. | |||
16 | Disconnect the flexible brake line air hoses (11) on the rear rearward axle spring brake actuators from the port no 11 and 12 | By using 24 mm open-end wrench. | |
17 | Remove the link rod (12) between the anti-roll bar and frame | By using 24mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
18 | Remove the anti roll bar (13) | By using 21 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
19 | Lift the axle casing using jib crane (14) to relive the load on the spring support bracket | ||
20 | Remove the torque rod (15) between the link bracket | By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: By using 30mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
Torque rod between the link bracket and trunnion bracket | |||
21 | Remove the spring seat (16) and link bracket (17) from the axle housing | By using 30mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Ensure spring is free and not touching the spring bracket. | |||
Installation: Using 30 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||

22 | Tie the V-rod (18) on the vehicle frame to avoid rubbing and sagging | ||
23 | Remove the V-rod (18) from the axle housing | By using 36 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: By using 36 mm hexagonal socket and torque ratchet. | |||

24 | Lower the axle housing (19) by jig crane and support on the conventional crawler cum trolley jack (20) | ||
25 | Install in the reverse order |
