Checking

Position vehicle horizontally for oil level inspection.

Check transmission for leaks before oil level inspection.

If there is a large loss of oil determine cause and rectify.

Danger!

Risk of accident due to vehicle starting off automatically when engine is running. Risk of injury due to being trapped and burns when intervening during the starting operation or when the engine is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off automatically.
Wear close-fitting, tight clothing.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Allow engine to idle in selector lever position "P".

Press the locking pin (6b) away to the side in the direction of the arrow, remove both parts and open locking lever (6a).

Pull out oil dipstick (6).

Wipe with a fluff-free cloth.

Insert oil dipstick (6) as far as the stop, pull out again and read off oil level.

When the transmission is cold (transmission oil temperature approx. 30°C), the display must be between the "min." and "max." marking when the oil level is correct (Figure 2).
When the transmission is at operating temperature (transmission oil temperature approx80°C), the display must be on the "max." marking when the oil level is correct (Figure 2).

Pour in transmission oil when the engine is running.

It is absolutely essential to drain or draw off excess transmission oil,

An insufficient and excessive amount of oil impairs the function of the transmission.

Check oil level again.

Correct, if necessary

Close locking lever (6a) and insert locking pin (6b) until it locks in position.

(Figure 1)
Insert oil dipstick (6) so that the locking clip (6a) is easily accessible and does not touch anything.
