1 | Bring engine up to operating temperature (approx. 80°C) | Only check compression pressure for an engine is at operating temperature. | |

3 | Connect diagnostic system and call up control units menu | ||
| Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory | ||
Select checking of the "compression pressure" in the menu. In this way one can ensure that no injection takes place when turning the engine. | |||
4 | Turn engine as per the menu sequence | Crank engine several times to eliminate combustion residues. | |

5 | Attach screw-in piece (3) with check valve installed into glow plug hole for cylinder to be checked | Screw-in fitting | |
