Location
The respective charger feed-in socket is located in the side wall or in the rear bumper behind a flap.
Function requirements
Circuit 30t ON
Function
The charger feed-in socket ensures the electrical contact with the charging cable.
In vehicles with AC socket (Japan/China) or Combo socket (except Japan/China), the charging cable connector is locked during the charging process by an actuator motor.

Structure
Depending on the version, the charger feed-in socket contains the following electrical contacts:
Contacts for respective charging current:
Alternating current or three-phase current (L1, L2, L3, N and PE)
Direct current (DC+ and DC-)
Control Pilot (CP) contact for communication with charging station
Proximity Pilot (PP) contact
The Proximity Pilot contact (PP) has the following tasks:
Detect whether vehicle and/or charging station plug connection is plugged in
Coding of max. current load capacity of charging cable via a resistor
The following additional components are located at the AC socket (Japan/China) or Combo socket (except Japan/China):
Actuator motor (for electrical locking of charging cable connector) (2)
Mechanism with emergency release cable (3) for emergency release of charging cable connector
Locked and/or unlocked LED (4)
Charge indicator LED (5)
The locked and/or unlocked LED (4) and charge indicator LED (5) visualize the current status of the charger feed-in socket.
Emergency release of charging cable connector (AC socket (Japan/China) or Combo socket (except Japan/China))
The charging cable connector is protected during the charging process against unauthorized removal by being electrically locked in the charger feed-in socket.
If the charging cable connector cannot be removed after a charging process at the charger feed-in socket, this can be mechanically released by pulling the emergency release cable (3).
Depending on the vehicle model, the emergency release cable (3) is located either behind a side trim or the lower trim in the load compartment or trunk.
