Purpose

Controlling the start quantity in line with the operating state, irrespective of the position of the accelerator pedal.

Function

The crankshaft position and the engine speed are detected by the crankshaft position sensor (L5/6) and passed to the DFI control module (N3/8). In addition, signals for processing the required start quantity are passed through the coolant temperature sensor (B11) and the fuel temperature sensor (Y23/3b1) to the DFI control module (N3/8), these signals being passed on to the fuel

metering control (Y23/3k1), with the feedback of the slide valve actuator (Y23/3l1).

After the engine has started and engine speed is >600 rpm, the start quantity control is deactivated.

The start quantity is controlled irrespective of the position of the accelerator pedal.

Engine speed can be controlled from the accelerator pedal only after it has reached a speed of >600 rpm (the start quantity control is interrupted after idle speed is reached). The higher the coolant temperature, the smaller is the start quantity released by the DFI control module (N3/8).
