Danger !

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

AS00.00-Z-0005-01A

Danger !

Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure.Risk of poisoning from swallowing hydraulic fluid.

Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on it. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.

AS00.00-Z-0013-01A

Danger !

Risk of injury. Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.

No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of the mechanism when the components are moving.

Bleeding

1

Make bleed hose (2) using a suitable piece of transparent hose and T-piece, then connect, as shown to the bleed valves (3) and the auxiliary steering axle hydraulic control block (Y67)

2

Connect diagnostic system and start XENTRY

3

Select auxiliary steering axle (ZL) system and perform venting process

The procedure is menu-assisted.

If pressure relief is required:

Release jam nut (5) and unscrew pressure screw (6) by one or two turns.

To close the pressure unloading valve (4):

Screw in pressure screw (6) to specified tightening torque, then counterhold and tighten jam nut (5).

*BA46.80-N-1011-01B

Turn auxiliary steering axle using XENTRY to left and right often enough (min. 3 times), until the oil escapes free of bubbles at the bleed valves (3). If the oil exits at the bleed valves (3) free of bubbles:

Close bleed valves (3) and detach bleed hose (2).

4

End XENTRY and disconnect diagnostic system

5

Check oil level and correct if necessary

Switch drive switch for min. 15 s to "OFF" position.
The oil in a stopped engine must reach the "max." marking on the oil dipstick.
