| Check | ||
Caution | Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid | Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.
Danger | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

1 | Open engine hood and raise to vertical position
2 | Connect brake fluid change unit | Pay attention to manufacturer's operating instructions.
3 | Raise vehicle using two-post lift
Half height. | |||
4 | Detach left front wheel or right front wheel | When performing brake line pressure test on front wheel brake.
| |||
5 | Remove bleed screw from a floating brake caliper (2) of brake circuit to be tested and connect pressure tester (3)
| |||
At the rear wheel brake, a banjo union (11), a banjo bolt (9) as well as three seals (10) must be used for adaptation. The banjo union (11) must be mounted to the pressure tester connection (12) with a seal. Then unscrew the bleed screw (8) from the corresponding floating brake caliper (2) of the rear wheel brake. Attach the banjo union (11) together with the banjo bolt (9) and the two seals (10) to the floating brake caliper (2) in place of the bleed screw (8).
The banjo union (11) as well as the banjo bolt (9) must be obtained as accessories from the manufacturer of the recommended pressure tester (3) (see the manufacturer information enclosed with the pressure tester (3)). A selection of seals (10) is supplied with the pressure tester (3).
Collect escaping brake fluid.
6 | Bleed pressure tester (3) using brake fluid change unit
7 | Switch off brake fluid change unit and release pressure
| Measure using pointer device | ||
8 | Allow engine to idle at moderate speed and generate as high a vacuum as possible by abruptly releasing accelerator pedal
9 | Immediately depress brake pedal (5) as far as possible, then insert brake pedal jack (4) and tension as far as possible using knob (1). After a short dwell time lasting a few seconds, read off measurement value for brake line pressure from high-pressure manometer of pressure tester (3) and note down
| |||
Test duration of high-pressure test: 5 min.
During the test duration of 5 min, the drop in brake line pressure must not exceed 5 % of the measurement value initially read off and noted down.

11 | Depress brake pedal (5) as far as possible and insert brake pedal jack (4). Then turn knob (1) back slowly until a brake line pressure of approx. 3 bar is displayed on low-pressure manometer of pressure tester (3)
| |||
Test duration of low-pressure test: 2 min.
During the test duration of 2 min, the previously set brake line pressure must not drop off.

13 | Remove pressure tester (3) and screw bleed screw (8) back into floating brake caliper (2) | Collect escaping brake fluid.
14 | Bleed brake system | ||
After the brake line pressure test, bleed only those floating brake calipers to which the pressure tester (3) was connected.
Pay attention to manufacturer's operating instructions.
