 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Drain off coolant

Remove air filter housing

Remove engine air intake duct

Remove poly-V belt

Clamp (1) and detach coolant hose (2) on connection fitting for coolant pump (5)

Fasten coolant hose (2) outside the working area

Detach coolant hose at connection fitting for coolant pump (5)

Remove right engine support

Remove screw/bolt (3s)

 Bolt, coolant pipe to crankcase/timing case

Remove screw/bolt (4s) and detach coolant line (3) at coolant pump (5)

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.

 Bolt, feed pipe to coolant pump

Detach vacuum hose (6) at vacuum unit for coolant pump (5)

Remove screw/bolts (5s) and detach coolant pump (5) at crankcase

 Screw, coolant pump to timing case/crankcase/oil pan

Remove coolant pump (5) to the front

Install in the reverse order



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
