Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. 1	Open maintenance flap
2	Unscrew cap (1) from coolant expansion reservoir (2)
3	Set temperature selection wheel for the heater to the maximum heat output and switch on ignition
4	Check coolant level, top up coolant if necessary	 If the antifreeze in the coolant is too low, either add more antifreeze or change the coolant.

5	Dry rub coolant filler neck on inside on coolant expansion reservoir (2)
6	Turn rubber seal on adapter (3) until it fits the inside diameter of the coolant filler neck	 Adapter	*655589006300
7	Fit adapter (3) and testing unit (4) onto coolant expansion reservoir (2)	 Testing unit	*001589832100
8	Apply compressed air to the cooling system at the testing unit (4) and check cooling system for leaks	 Observe test pressure and test period since otherwise damage may occur to the cooling system.	*BE20.30-N-1001-01F
		 A pressure drop at the pressure gauge of the  testing unit (4) is visible in case of leaks in the cooling system.
9	Perform visual inspection on all coolant carrying components	 For a pressure drop and visible coolant loss: 
		Check radiator, heater, coolant pump, cooling and heating hoses, coolant lines and their connecting points, hose clamps, cylinder head gaskets, core hole cap or core hole plug screws; remove leaks in the cooling system.
		For a pressure drop and no visible coolant loss: 
		Check cylinder head for leaks (cracks).
10	Relieve compression at test equipment (4) and remove adapter (3) and test equipment (4) on coolant expansion reservoir (2)
11	Check coolant level, top up coolant if necessary	 If the antifreeze in the coolant is too low, either add more antifreeze or change the coolant.

12	Tighten cap (1) on coolant expansion reservoir (2)
13	Close maintenance flap
