Remove/install

Drain the cooling system



In vehicles 368, 382, 384 and 634

 Catch the coolant, change it if necessary.

Unscrew oil filter cover (1) and remove it

 When unscrewing the filter cover (1), the oil will flow to the oil pan.

 Installation: Check sealing ring (2) on the filter cover (1) and oil filtering element (3) for damage and impurities. If necessary replace them.

Remove the intake hose (4)

 Installation: Only install the inlet hose (4) after filling the oil circuit.

Remove the oil pressure pipe (5) from the turbocharger

 Installation: Close the oil pressure holes.

 Installation: Replace sealing rings.

Disconnect the electrical connector (7) on the combined transmitter - oil pressure and temperature (B110)

Remove the cap (6) with the oil/water heat exchanger (9)

 Installation: Clean the sealing surfaces and replace the gasket.

 Heat exchanger to the block

Remove from the cap (6) the oil/water heat exchanger (9)

 If necessary, seal the threaded plugs.

 Installation: Clean the sealing surfaces and replace the gasket (8)

 Exchanger cover to the exchanger

Install in the reverse order of the steps

Refill the engine oil circuit

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start the engine

 Do not accelerate the engine while oil pressure is not indicated. Oil pressure must be indicated on the corresponding pressure gauge after approx. 10 s.

Stop the engine and check for tightness

 Visual inspection.
