Modification notes
| Removing | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
| Notes on coolant | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within tilting range of cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt cab all the way to end position and secure with safety strut.
1 | Tilt cab | ||
| Notes on tilting the cab | ||
2 | Remove soundproofing on frame at upper left
3 | Partially drain coolant at radiator
4 | Remove coolant line (6) from dual compressor (1) | Collect coolant that flows out
5 | Detach coolant line (3) from dual compressor (1) | Collect coolant that flows out
6 | Remove compressed air line (4) at dual compressor (1) | Counterhold fitting (7).
7 | Check compressed-air line (4) for carbonization | In the event of carbonization, also check compressed air lines between dual compressor (1), compressed air drier and the four-circuit protection valve, if necessary replace the carbonized parts.
8 | Remove air intake duct (5) on dual compressor (1)
9 | Pull camshaft position sensor (B16) out of cylinder crankcase | Do not disconnect electrical connector (8).
10 | Remove compressor cylinder head (2) on dual compressor (1)
11 | Remove seal/suction valve disk (9)
| Checking | ||
12 | Check piston and cylinder barrels of dual compressor (1) for damage and wear | If wear or damage present:
Replace dual compressor (1).
13 | Check removed compressor cylinder head (2) for leaks | If leaks can be recognized on the compressor cylinder head (2):
Disassemble the compressor cylinder head (2), insert new seals and assemble
| |||
| Install | ||
14 | Lay on new seal/suction valve disk (9) | Clean sealing surfaces.
15 | Attach compressor cylinder head (2) to dual compressor (1) using new screw/bolt,s (10) | Observe tightening sequence.
Note: If the compressor cylinder head (2) has been replaced the screw/bolt,s (11) must be loosened before tightening since these have not yet been tightened according to specification in the delivery condition and leaks can occur.
| |||
| |||
16 | Push in camshaft position sensor (B16) all the way into the cylinder crankcase. | Replace O-ring. Check bushing for camshaft position sensor (B16); replace if necessary.
17 | Attach air intake duct (5) to dual compressor (1)
18 | Attach compressed air line (4) to dual compressor (1) | Counterhold fitting (7).
| |||
19 | Attach coolant line (3) to dual compressor (1)
20 | Attach coolant line (6) to dual compressor (1)
21 | Pour in coolant | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns from working on the vehicle as it is being started or when the engine is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself.
22 | Start engine and check the connecting points and line interfaces on the dual compressor (1) for leaks for a running engine | Visual inspection.
23 | Turn off engine | ||
24 | Install soundproofing on frame above on the left
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within tilting range of cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt cab all the way to the position and secure with safety strut.
