Drain oil into a suitable container.

 Installation: Install new sealing rings (7).

Take off end cover (2) together with gasket (3) at timing case (6)

Vehicles without rear engine power take-off

Take off bracket (13) together with electrical wiring harness (14) at timing case (6)

Take off transmission oil lines (12) at timing case (6) and crankcase

 Only on vehicles with code (N55) Transmission oil cooling.

Remove ground cable (15), electrical wiring harness (16) and attached parts at timing case (6)

Pull out crankshaft angle position sensor (B15) and detach cable at timing case (6)

 Installation: Press in terminal socket (5) and crankshaft angle position sensor (B15) as far as the stop.

Remove radial sealing ring (17)

 Installation: Only install radial sealing ring (17) when the timing case (6) is mounted on the cylinder crankcase.

Remove timing case (6)

 Unscrew bolt via opening for engine power take-off in the timing case (6).

Loosen the timing case (6), using a plastic mallet if necessary.

 Installation: Check the timing case (6) for damage, and replace timing case (6) if necessary, transferring all detachable parts.



Clean sealing surfaces

 Installation: Coat with sealing compound.
