Test equipment for air compressors
For some time now, two pieces of test equipment have been available for air compressors, with which the following tests can be performed:

 Check of delivery rate

 Oil discharge testThis workshop equipment can in the meantime be procured directly from the GLC/LC via the regular replacement part ordering process.
 To check the oil discharge the previously-used apertures are no longer used, but new test equipment instead.

Check of delivery rate
The delivery rate check is performed using a fill time measurement. A test reservoir with a defined volume has compressed air applied to it using the air compressor until a specific pressure is reached. The time required for this is then measured. The tool for checking the delivery rate consists of: Test compressed air reservoir made of aluminum (40 liter), flexible test lines, adapter for commonly-used air compressor variants.

Oil discharge test
To check the level of oil discharge, this is collected and assessed on the basis of comparative samples. The test tool is used to apply a pre-configured back pressure. The scope of supply includes the following: The test tool itself and the flexible test lines.
The previously-used apertures are no longer used.
Test is required for warranty and goodwill claims
Please note that all removed air compressors which had problems with delivery rate and which were submitted for inspection as part of warranty and goodwill claims, must be tested beforehand using the specified method for delivery rate and oil discharge. The work instructions have a form attached to them which is to be filled out to document the test results. For a warranty or goodwill claim the removed compressor must be submitted for inspection together with the completely filled out questionnaire and the test sheet used when testing for oil discharge.

 Engine 457.9 with code MZ7 (Air compressor, 1-cylinder, controlled)

 Engine 457.9 with code MZ8 (Air compressor, 2-cylinder, controlled)

 Engine 457.9 with code MY2 (Air compressor, 2-cylinder, two-stage)

 Engine 541.9. 542.9 with code MZ7 (Air compressor, 1-cylinder, controlled)

 Engine 541.9. 542.9 with code MZ8 (Air compressor, 2-cylinder, controlled)

 Engine 900.9, 902.9, 924.9, 925.9, 926.9 with 1-cylinder compressor (series)

 Engine 900.9, 926.9 with code MZ9 (Air compressor, 2-cylinder)

 Engine 900.9, 926.9 with code MG7 (Air compressor, 2-cylinder, temperature optimized)

The test method used for checking for oil discharge can be used for all engine/air compressor combinations.
