Remove/install oil-water heat exchanger

Remove/install

Open tailgate

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Close shutoff valves for heating system and drain the coolant

 Location of shutoff valves, refer to operator's manual.



Remove oil filter



Replace oil filter element

Remove hose for filling in engine oil

Remove alternator I

Disconnect electrical connector (1) from oil pressure sensor

Detach housing of the oil-water heat exchanger (3)

 The housing is fitted with 11 bolts.

 Installation:

- Observe tightening sequence,

- Clean sealing surfaces and

- Replace gasket.



Unscrew bolts (4) and take off oil-water heat exchanger (5) together with gaskets (6)

 Collect coolant and engine oil which flow out.

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces and install new seals.



Install in the reverse order



Checking

Check engine oil level. Correct it if necessary



Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

 Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Run engine until warm and check for leaks

 Engine oil pressure gauge must indicate oil pressure after 10 seconds.

If engine does not start after 10 seconds, wait 30 seconds before repeating starting procedure.

Switch off engine and wait about 5 min. before rechecking the engine oil level, top up engine oil if necessary


