Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

Park vehicle over a workshop pit

Place a suitable receptacle under fuel pump with prefilter and water separator

Open water drain valve (3) and drain water/fuel mixture

Dispose of the water/fuel mixture in accordance with the relevant environmental laws and regulations.

Installation: Close the water drain valve (3) after attaching the water separator (2).

Detach connector (4) of water level sensor

Unscrew water separator (2) from fuel pump housing (1), and remove filter element (5)

Installation: Attach the water separator with a new seal ring (6). The seal ring must be coated with engine oil before it is installed. The water separator should be tightened by hand only.

Clean water separator (2), check for damage and replace if necessary

Install in the reverse order

Checking

Start engine and allow to idle

Check fuel pump with prefilter and water separator for leaks

10

Turn off engine
