Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Check the condition of the cooling and heating system

Before replacing the coolant, inspect the condition of the cooling and heating system, and check it for leaks.

Turn temperature selector for front and floor heater to maximum position

Switch on the ignition and wait until the control valves of the front, floor and roof heaters open. Switch off the ignition after about two minutes.

Drain coolant, pour in

Only use coolant in the prescribed composition to avoid damaging the cooling and heating system.

The old coolant and the corrosion residues must be completely flushed out. If the cooling and heating system is very dirty, clean it against a separate repair order.

Turn temperature selector for front and floor heater to center position

To prevent damage, connect the auxiliary heater only after the test run.

Connect the circulation pump of the auxiliary heater

Switch ignition on.

Replenish coolant

Up to edge of filler neck.

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Crank the engine and run it for about one minute at varying rpm

Switch off engine and top up coolant

Switch on the ignition and let the circulation pump of the auxiliary heater run.

Crank the engine and run it until the thermostat opens

Switch off engine and allow to cool down

Check coolant level, adjust to correct level if necessary.

For coolant temperature approx. 50 °C.
