Drain coolant
1 Disconnect electrical connectors on coolant circulation pumps.
Coolant circulation pumps will be damaged if operated without coolant.

2 Open heating feed shutoff valve (arrow).

3 Open heating return shutoff valve.

4 Unscrew drain plugs (1, 2, 5, 6, 7) on heating system feed and return lines and engine (drain plug on left and temperature sensor on right of engine housing) and automatic transmission or Voith retarder and drain coolant completely.
When disposing of coolant, the legal requirements and local waste water regulations must be observed.

Pouring in coolant
5 Clear any drain openings blocked by deposits.
6 Screw in drain plugs (1, 2, 5, 6, 7).
Check drain plug seals, renew if necessary.

7 Unscrew auxiliary heater bleed screw (8) or open bleed valve.
8 Prepare specified mixture of coolant and fill until coolant emerges from auxiliary heater blow hole
9 Close blow hole.

10 Connect electrical connectors on coolant circulation pumps.
11 Turn temperature selector for front heater and floor heater to "MAX".
