2 | Check radiator, additional radiator and charge air cooler for external contamination | The fins of the radiator, additional radiator and charge air cooler must not be clogged up with dirt.
3 | Swivel charge air cooler into its servicing position | For model NMB 671.020/021/030/042/333 with engine 457.942
| Removing/installing charge air cooler | For model NMB 671.015/332 with engine 457.942 Only remove the charge air cooler enough to be able to swivel it into its servicing position. | |
| Cleaning | ||
4 | Clean radiator, additional radiator and charge air cooler | Always direct the hot water jet at right angles to the radiator to avoid damaging the radiator, additional radiator and charge air cooler lamellae.
Begin by cleaning the radiator in the opposite direction to the flow of cooling air. Then remove remaining dirt from fan side. Blow out slight soiling with compressed air or spray out with water. Remove heavy soiling with a hot-water high-pressure cleaner.
5.1.1 | Remove the charge air cooler completely | Only perform if the charge air cooler cannot be adequately cleaned in its servicing position.
