1. General instructions
Due to further developments and a higher reliability of the process, the compressed-air connector was converted as of 01/2004.
The previous "VOSS 230" compressed-air connector in the nominal sizes NG 6, NG 8 and NG 12 is replaced by
the "Schäfer SDF" connector for the NG 6 and
the "VOSS 232" connector for the NG 8 and NG 12.
The new compressed air connectors are releasable, two-stage connectors, which are distinguished by their user friendliness and simple handling.
On major assemblies, except on transmission and engine (these will be converted at a later time) and on all components (e.g. brake components, compressed air reservoirs; compressed air lines, etc.) only the new compressed air connectors are installed ex-works.
Furthermore, several vehicles have already been supplied with the new compressed-air connectors before production conversion by way of trial.
The individual parts (plugs and retaining bolts) of the previous and new compressed air connectors are not compatible with one another.
It is permissible to install entire compressed-air connectors of different makes in one vehicle and on assemblies and components.
2. Documentation in Workshop Information System "WIS"
Detailed system descriptions as well as installation and repair instructions are included in WIS.
3.Parts supply and parts finding
Parts identification (single parts and repair kits) for the new compressed-air connectors is possible in the familiar manner using EPC.
Observe instructions in "What's New" in EPC, Edition 01/04
The previous "VOSS 230" compressed-air connector can still be ordered for the time of the conversion phase.
