P07.03-2217-01
1 Manufacture date, 5-digit coded
On injectors as of manufacture date 1.11.2006
(code no. 69101) of the engine 640, the microencapsulation of the high-pressure fitting is discontinued .
This means that during repair work on which the high-pressure line is superseded by an injector with manufacture date as of 1.11.2006, in general the injector must be counterheld at the hexagon of the high-pressure fitting. Otherwise there is a danger that the high-pressure fitting on the injector loosens and can become leaky as a result.
Should a leak occur between the high-pressure fitting and injectors, on injectors as of manufacture date 1.11.2006, the fitting and the soft iron washer under it should be replaced by the existing kit (fitting+soft iron washer). Complete replacement of the injectors is no longer necessary.
On injectors up to code no. 69031 (manufacture date up to 31.10.2006), furthermore with complaints on the high-pressure fitting, the complete injector should be replaced. Thus separate replacement of the high-pressure fitting is not permissible as the microencapsulation is still present.
