| Fault code ( Readout on generic scan tool) | P201D Cylinder 1 (Y62y1) (P0201) P2020 Cylinder 2 (Y62y2) (P0202) P2022 Cylinder 3 (Y62y3) (P0203) P201F Cylinder 4 (Y62y3) (P0204) P201E Cylinder 5 (Y62y5) (P0205) P2021 Cylinder 6 (Y62y6) (P0206) P208A Cylinder 7 (Y62y7) (P0207) P208B Cylinder 8 (Y62y8) (P0208) |
| Fault storage Actuation of the engine diagnosis indicator lamp (EURO3/4) or CHECK ENGINE (MIL) | after expiry of test duration and fault following two successive driving cycles with faults |
| Checking frequency | Continuous |
| Checked signal or status | Current/voltage test on respective fuel injector |
| Fault setting conditions Limit values Short circuit to ground Short circuit to +12 V Open circuit in wiring Checking duration |
Voltage lower than 2.5 volts Current higher than 4.2 amps No voltage on fuel injection valve Approx. 4 to 8 V on under no load output of the ME control unit approx. 1 seconds |
| Check prerequisites | Battery voltage between 8 and 17 V |
| | The actuation of each fuel injector is tested for line interruption and short circuit (to ground or battery voltage). A short circuit to ground and a line discontinuity will be recognized when the output stages are locked, while a short circuit to the battery voltage is recognized when the output stages are conducting. The output stage is immediately no longer activated when a fault arises. |
| | In the event of a short circuit to ground, the corresponding fuel injector is continuously open. |
