Set steering wheel in center position

 Use retaining device (055)

Check centering of steering rack and steering wheel

The rack-and-pinion steering (1) is in the center position when the marking on the steering coupling (5) is aligned with the marking notch on the plastic cover (arrows).

Adjust steering wheel by max. one tooth if necessary.

Wheel pressure device (030) at front facing forward, insert at interior side of wheel and remove

 The elastic bearing of the wishbone produces a correspondingly large toe-in measurement which decreases to the correct size in curb condition.

Adjust toe by twisting the tie rods (2)

 If the tie rods are difficult to move, remove holding device (055).

Check bellows on inner joint for twisting after adjusting the toe.

If the toe value does not agree with the specified adjustment values, first the toe-in must be adjusted.
That is, the tie rods (2) must first be unscrewed and then be adjusted to the required value.



Check the vehicle level at the front axle again after adjusting the toe

 The vehicle level must agree with the values determined on the initial measurement.
